OrganicThe fundamentals of why balla is organic and what entails the surreal environment we live in.
What about the environment?Environment basically means the complex of surrounding cirumstances, conditions, or influences in which a thing is situated or is developed. The environment is currently going through many changes due to the effects of many human actions such as deforestation and the use of toxic chemicals when farming. Many issues are now climate related, which in turn affects the masses. This includes water resource availability and food security.
What does climate change mean?Climate change refers to any significant measure of climate such as temperature and precipitation lasting for an extended period of time. A change in climate for an extended period of time can cause severe and harmful weather effects.
Climate Change results from?
Human induced climate change has the potential to alter the prevalence and security of extremes such as heat waves, cold waves, floods, and droughts due to burning of fossil fuels, deforestation, urbanization, and desertification.
How does this relate to balla?
The choice to use organic products stems from our environmentally conscious philosophy. We are committed to reducing negative environmental effects and providing a healthier choice for our customers.
What does organic mean?
Organic refers to the way agriculture products are grown and processed. It includes a system of production, processing, distribution and sales that will ensure consumers that the products maintain organic integrity that begins on the farm. Organic production is based on a system of farming that maintains and replenishes soil fertility without using toxic pesticides and fertilizers.
What is organic cotton?
The difference between organic cotton and conventional cotton is that conventional cotton is one of the most heavily sprayed crops in the United States, and uses approximately 25% of the world’s insecticides and 10% of the pesticides, according to the Organic Trade Association. Organic cotton reduces the overall exposure to toxic chemicals from synthetic pesticides. Additionally, organically grown crop uses less fossil fuel energy than conventional crops.
How do toxic farming chemicals affect our health?
Chemicals greatly affect our health and lifestyle. Increased exposure to toxic chemicals greatly intensifies the potential threat of cancers and diseases. Many current EPA approved pesticides were registered long before extensive research linked these chemicals to cancers and other diseases. Organic culture is one way to prevent these chemicals from getting into environment air, earth, and water that sustains us (Organic Trade Association).
By taking simple steps and making healthy choices with balla, we can help clean up the environment and make the world a better place to live into the future. Balla wants for everyone to live healthy and happy so as to enjoy and celebrate life. Go organic!
